Harvey Logan (AKA Kid Curry) has often been referred to as “the wildest of the Wild Bunch.” During his life he was wanted on warrants for 15 murders, but it is generally said that he had killed more than twice that number. William Pinkerton, head of the Pinkerton Detective Agency called Logan the most vicious outlaw in America. “He was not one single redeeming feature. He is the only criminal I know of who does not have one single good point.”

Logan was known for his hot temper, run-ins with the law, for holding a grudge, and his multiple jailbreaks. On several occasions, Logan killed in the sake of revenge for killing someone that was important to him. When his mentor and friend, “Flat Nose” Curry was shot and killed by a sheriff in Grand County, Utah in April 1900, Logan wanted revenge. Logan made it a point to go to Moab just to kill the sheriff and deputy that was responsible on or about May 27, 1900. Else another time, Logan made a detour to kill a rancher that had killed his brother five years earlier.

It is rumored that Logan fathered 85 children throughout Texas while laying low from the law and visiting prostitutes. Logan’s reputation was so notorious that he was one of the men to be recognized in the famous Fort Worth Five photograph.
